Three weeks into the new job. Great job - God is good! The extra money was to be used to pay my bills in FULL each month and maybe be able to save for dental work, eyeglasses and maybe a doctor for thyroid issues. Well, the landlord put a kybosh on that idea! Hmmmmm. God always has new challenges for us in life! Hardly as difficult as what His Son had to endure on a good day! He will give me the grace for patience, fortitude and ability to see a solution. Weather is great today. I think it was around 72 and a cool breeze started early afternoon to keep it from getting too hot. I miss my best friend and pray that the Texas heat is not to hard on her. It is a wonderful thing to see that my mother who scrimped for so many years is now being almost frivolous with her money now. She is not wasting it by any means but she is indulging herself in a few comforts and "just because"-s. She deserves it! She saved so much for more than 7 decades. She is a product of the depression. She finally allowed herself to get cable TV! She got a car she has wanted for a long time. Good for her!!! There is nothing more sad than an 80+ year old, saving and refusing to buy something she wants. Why not? She has never indulged herself. She has never wasted anything. She always reused many year before it was stylish. I am almost 60. I realize that I may have 40 years left. At 80 a person has 20 years? So get a new coat, pair of boots that fit and look nice. It is disgusting that someone won't buy herself something at such an age so that she can leave it for her children. Her children are hardly children any more!! They are adults. She owes them nothing - They owe her their lives, health, education, etc. It is horrible that an elder denies herself so that a selfish child(ren) or grandchildren can take from her. I have some good friends like that. The wife will not buy any new clothes. Her shoes are falling apart and her cloths are at least 20 years old and don't look too good anymore. But she won't spend their hard earned money so that their four ungrateful, lazy kids can fight over their money when their parents die. Sick, just sick. You go, Mom! Enjoy that car!

So now I have a second job. I worked 3 mornings. Good job since I don't have to sit behind a desk. It is a small local market. Waiting on customers takes up most of the time, but you have to make more breakfasts/lunches, restock cancer sticks, sort empty cans and bottles, bake cookies and brownies or restock the pastry cabinet, wrap muffins, or sliced quick bread, etc., etc. I like physical busy. To sit at a desk would make me nuts. I had a chance at a great job but am glad I didn't go for it. I am very poor. It is a struggle to pay bills every month but I would have had many doctor bills with a great paying sit still job. (Been there done that.) I can't afford cable, don't eat out, go to movies, etc. But I am a peace since I came back to the Faith. I miss eating out at different restaurants, but have developed food allergies so that eating out is no picnic....ha ha. Anyway, this part time job will help me catch up on bills. Every month I paid the phone in full and partial electric bill. The next month I paid the electric bill in full and partial phone bill. I owe friends money. $100 here and there they gave me to help me get through a month. I will be able to pay them back. I can get a pair of eyeglasses so that I can read the computer in the new job and see better in my 'real' job. I will eventually get my teeth fixed! YAY! I always had good paying jobs. This poor stuff kinda stinks. But the funny thing is I am much happier now than I ever was in the past! I don't feel much political pressure at work. I don't have the sexual harassment that were prevalent in my past jobs. But most important is that I know Jesus. I was raised well by my mother. I left the Faith and now am back. I truly thank God! Truly! I was away for 30 years and am so grateful to have come back before I died!!! Seriously!! And what a lousy life I led. I didn't do really bad things, but I thought I was so smart believing the junk out there. I deduced life so that it fit the cultural foolishness. Like Oprah. She was a good Christian. Then she got sucked into some weird stuff! I didn't go in that direction, but mine was just as stupid. And illogical. A smart little kid could easily see that most of it didn't make much sense.
I got a phone message yesterday: a reminder of my monday afternoon VA appointment. Huh - didn't know I had one! I have not picked up mail in a week. (Why? If I don't have the money then I can't pay the bills and worrying about them does not help!) So I called today to cancel. I will be working that morning and would not be able to make it to the appointment on time. Besides it doesn't hurt so badly now.
Chica came by just as I was leaving work. I gave him the letter and some stuff I had been looking for for him on the net. We talked for a while. I wanted to run to church to pick up something but we visited til well after closing. Then the lady who needs the roommate came by - she has inside cats.
I was planning on the beach with the kid but by the time I got into my car it was almost 1800 so we went home. He wanted to eat early anyway. And now I am typing....

first day
Well- so it begins! I just started a second job. Weird to be this age and need a second job again. I thought all that was behind me years ago. Ah, well, gotta eat and feed the dog and pay the bills! Thank you, God for all You have given me thus far! Now I need to find a way to motivate myself to de-hoard. I don't do TV, but have seen some samples of that new show about hoarders. Whew! I still have too much stuff. Right now I cannot access the stuff I need to throw away first since it is blocked by the stuff that I need to keep. I wish I had a friend or someone patient and free who would help me. This has gotten quite out of hand!!!
The bible fell open to Psalm 19:7 The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul. Ah, yes.... I opened the bible because of another blogger's comment about a verse she came across and likes. I have never really found a favorite verse, since I relate to so many and they 'speak' to me at different times in my life. As a recent C. revert, it is ALL good!!
This other blogger had a recipe that I can use! (Allergies: gluten, all cow's milk, soy, etc.) This recipe is simple with greens, bacon and beans. A good recipe for me also since I don't get my calcium from milk. It is also simple which is good since I have a very tiny kitchen and limited cooking patience.
My goofy dog keeps jumping up hoping to play b-a-l-l. He is still breathing hard from just coming back inside! The hardest thing about this new job is that we can no longer go for a w-a-l-k early in the morning. My fat butt needs it, my sanity needs it and he loves it. I need to train him to heel beside the bike. It seldom gets too hot for that and he is a running fool!
I need to check out the info on rentals. Maybe the lady looking for a roommate will a good thing. I need to keep checking in with my friends in banks, utility companies and church. God will provide. Remember Billie, let go and let God. It is so hard for my independent self to do that, but I am trying.
